Takht-Ravanchi discussed and exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international cooperation with Italian Deputy Foreign Minister Vincenzo Amendola on Saturday.

Iran's deputy FM, referring to the traditional, friendly and strong relations between the two countries, outlined that Italy is the most important economic and commercial partner of Iran; he pointed to the 50% growth in commercial exchanges between Iran and Italy, describing the prospects for relations very successful and in the interests of the two countries.

Takht-Ravanchi also referred to the crisis in the Middle East and rejected the use of unilateral military action, expressing Iran’s readiness to hold dialogue and to cooperate with Italy to solve the regional issues.

He described the presence of Italy in the Tehran International Book Fair as a symbol of friendly relations between the two countries.

Amendola, for his part, pointed to his government's will to strengthen and deepen relations with the Islamic Republic; he said Italian companies are interested in economic cooperation with Iran; “Italy has supported Iran’s nuclear deal with 5+1 and will make any efforts for its full implementation.”

Regional crises have no military solution and Italy will make use of its potential as a member of the Security Council and the head of Group 7 in order to achieve a political solution to resolve regional issues, Amendola added.
